A Family Law Attorney 6 Months Out of Law School Works as an Assistant to One of the Top Family Law Attorneys in the Country. Could This New Attorney Handle an Extremely Wealthy Person’s Child Custody Case? Would Her Boss Let Her?

Anything is possible, but it is not likely that a recently licensed lawyer of only 6 months could handle an extremely wealthy person’s child custody case.

Extremely wealthy people usually A) have extensive experience with litigation and know how to play the game; B) hire cutthroat lawyers; and C) have much greater capacity for winning at all costs, and thus often adopt a win-at-all-costs attitude, especially in child custody disputes. Unless this newly licensed attorney went to law school later in life, is an intellectual and analytical prodigy, and has more maturity and savvy than the average young college grad, being licensed for a mere 6 months could not begin to equip that attorney to handle a case like this. It would be reckless for a supervising attorney to entrust such a case exclusively to such an inexperienced, unskilled new attorney.
