Does Utah law require divorced or single parents to pay child support in the form of college tuition for their children?
Require it? No. Utah does not require divorced or single parents to pay child support in the form of college tuition or other advanced education-related expenses for their children.
Permit it? Yes, if the parents agree to being ordered to pay some or all of the costs of their children’s college tuition and/or other education-related expenses.
If the spouse you are divorcing or who is divorcing you tells you that in the event of a divorce, you will be legally required to help pay for or pay for all of a child’s college education after the child reaches the age of majority, your spouse is lying to you.
